UX Designer - Permanent

£35-40k Full-time | Permanent | Reporting to VP Engineering

Collectiv Food is recruiting for an experienced UX Designer to support our digital transformation and ongoing optimisation of our digital portfolio.


Located in vibrant Notting Hill, West London, you will join a growing, collaborative team that encourages innovation and contribution from everyone.

This is a highly collaborative role working with cross functional teams to deliver user experience design and evolve Collectiv Food’s digital experience across a number of products and services. This role will have a real impact on the success of businesses across the foodservice industry.

You will benefit from flexible hours and optional remote working. While the position will be remote working only to begin with, as social restrictions ease, some office work will be required to interact with the broader team, so you should be London-based or able to travel as necessary.


You will be embedded in the tech and product team, working directly with experienced software engineers, creating services that power our revolutionary web and native mobile applications.

  • Designing intuitive and elegant solutions that solve user and business problems and meet specification requirements

  • Synthesising and evaluating complex processes and services to create elegant, future-proof solutions for internal and external customers

  • Using user-centred design principles and practices to shape the user journey

  • Designing and creating assets for the development team to implement

  • Working with the product team and directors to create and scope product design briefs and seeing them through to delivery

Skills & requirements

  • 2+ years professional experience in UX design with a strong portfolio

  • UX research methods and usability testing

  • Experience developing for mobile-centric platforms, specifically Android and iOS, and solving mobile-specific usability issues

  • Strong knowledge of responsive web design practices, technologies and methodologies e.g. CSS, HTML, JavaScript and accessibility (no direct coding skills are required)

  • Experience working in Agile software development

  • Proficiency in Adobe suite, wireframing and prototyping tools (Adobe XD, Illustrator etc.)

  • Strong communication and presentation skills

Nice to have experience

  • Designing and producing video content eg. tutorials, how-tos.

  • Animation design

  • Service design

  • UX writing 

  • B2B and/or enterprise software

  • Exposure to Supply Chain business needs

  • A passion for good food!
