Logistics Operations Director
The Logistics Operations Director is a critical role bringing experience and performance drive to the business operation. We pride ourselves on delivering great service and in maintaining great customer relationships. Our operating model of a decoupled logistics path is at the centre of this. Supply operations are all about balancing demand with supply in as efficient a way as possible and this role brings together the planning function with order fulfilment and logistics execution. This person will be able to handle the needs of shortlife, chilled goods in growing the operating scale in meeting the growth targets of the business.
We’re a VC-backed scale-up with ambitious plans, and growing fast. That’s why we’re looking for our Logistics Operations Director to help us grow seamlessly and support customer acquisition and retention.
You will benefit from flexible hours and optional remote working. While the position will be remote working only to begin with, as social restrictions ease, some office work will be required to interact with the broader team, so you should be London-based or able to travel, as necessary.

What you’ll be doing
Working closely with colleagues across the business, your main responsibilities will be:
To drive the performance of operations in reducing unit cost of delivery (warehouse, transport, asset utilisation and last mile)
Managing the logistics operations team in their responsibilities for receiving and managing stock, and picking and delivering customer orders
Working with the Planning Manager to maintain optimal stock availability for expected demand
Contract management of key partners (warehouse, transport, last mile) - visibility, scaling benefit, security, value for money
Developing a set of measures to drive the right behaviours and appropriate targets to deliver a level of service fit for our customers needs
Working with the Customer Service Manager to improve service levels through continuous improvement of the operation
With the VPs of Supply Chain and Engineering (technology), develop the integration of our supply chain operations to enable the best visibility and management of orders at every stage of their journey
What we’re looking for
Results focused person with a sense of urgency - a critical thinker, problem solver and performance manager
Highly data rational and analytical - enjoys understanding the numbers behind supply chain performance
Logistics operations leadership experience in the short life food market
Experience of contract management of service providers such as 3PLs, transport operators
Knowledge of supply and demand balancing functions in planning
Experience of deploying and getting the most from operational execution software
Good Communication Skills - Structured, professional, clear, confident

Hybrid office based (Notting Hill Gate, London) and remote working model - whilst you can work from the office five days a week if preferred, you can choose to work up to 2 days a week remotely
