Content & Communications Manager
About the job:
Start date: ASAP
Salary Range: £40k to £50k
Who are we?
Collectiv Food is a fast-growing next generation food supply business, on a mission to transform how food is accessed and distributed within cities.
Over the last decade, whilst there has been an explosion of tech-driven direct-to-consumer food platforms, the B2B wholesale food supply industry has experienced little to no innovation. We are bringing a fresh approach to this industry, one that is driven by transparency, automation and sustainability.
We work with hundreds of professional kitchens, including restaurant groups, dark kitchens, meal-kit companies, catering companies, hotel chains and grocery stores.
We’re a VC-backed scale-up, with ambitious plans.
That’s why we’re looking for a Content & Communications Manager, to elevate our brand, reach our target audiences and develop communities of supporters that will drive inbound interest in what we do.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for a creative, driven and analytical content & comms expert, who can own the voice of Collectiv Food and build impactful communities that will fuel future growth. You will love writing and the art of messaging, whilst being analytical and ultimately motivated by commercial success. The ideal candidate will have performed a similar role at a scale-up organisation or a leading agency, and will bring great ideas and best practices into the team.
Reporting to the VP Commercial Operations, this role is based in London, with flexibility to work from home when needed.
What will you do?
Own the brand story for Collectiv Food, ensuring that the messaging and content is consistent and fits with the value proposition
Establish strong partnerships with advertisers and media partners, and ensure the Collectiv Food brand is associated with excellence
Manage our content pipeline in parallel with changes in the market, to take advantage of new opportunities and maximise our chances of success
Create, update and manage compelling copy for our website, social media, blogs and newsletters, to help elevate our brand and to make sure we are hitting the right triggers for our core target audiences
From time to time, prepare compelling press releases for publication on our website, social media and via third-party channels
Manage the successful implementation of a refreshed website for Collectiv Food, working with an agency to ensure we are delivering a compelling website that accurately reflects both our value proposition to both customers and producers and the extent of our ambitions as an organisation
Working with contractors, generate and manage a portfolio of compelling images and video content that can be used across digital assets, to generate social proof for the positive impact of Collectiv Food’s approach
Develop a community of enthusiastic chefs and “chef influencers” that are dually motivated by our mission and our commercial success, to both promote our brand and generate new quality leads for the sales team
Take ownership of internal initiatives that need marketing support, e.g. the Producer Sustainability Index, ensuring that these initiatives are executed successfully and have the impact they deserve
Nurture and grow our communities on social media, including LinkedIn and Instagram, to maintain a network of supporters and to generate marketing qualified leads for the sales team
What skills and experience do you need?
At least 3+ years’ experience in a comms or content role in an agency or fast-growing startup
Excellent communication skills: you are a clear thinker and writer; creative in messaging and visually presenting when required
Experience in a start-up environment preferred
Excellent copywriting skills adapted to different media platforms
Basic knowledge of Photoshop (for social media card production)
Some experience in managing contractor relationships, e.g. with agencies or independent contractors
Mature in your approach, with gravitas beyond your years
What do you get?
Competitive salary (£40K to £50K, depending on experience and location)
Great office space in central London with a comfortable working environment
Flexibility to work from home
Great exposure and ability to impact a fast-growing, mission-driven food startup
Team of passionate foodies, working to leave the world in a better place than we found it and, of course, for good food!
25 days of paid vacation time in addition to national holidays
Plus, you get lots of food perks like delicious product samplings and food discounts from our customers
